There have been 114 new Covid cases in Leeds as city records second highest number in Yorkshire

Leeds has seen the second highest rise in coronavirus cases in Yorkshire with 114 cases diagnosed in just 24 hours.

In total, 512 cases were recorded across Yorkshire, with Leeds reporting another 114 cases of the deadly virus according to the most recent figures.

It was close behind Bradford which had a further 133 cases. Kirklees also had a sharp jump with another 79 cases of Covid-19.

This means that 6,627 people have now tested for the virus in Yorkshire since the start of the pandemic.

It comes as the whole of Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale have been brought back under strict local lockdown measures.

All those who lives in these areas are now banned from socialising with other households, unless part of an established support bubble.

Confirmed cases of coronavirus in Yorkshire over the past 24 hours:

  • Leeds was 5,830 now 5,944 (+114)

  • Wakefield - was 2,361 now 2,383 (+22)

  • North Yorkshire - was 3,168 now 3,199 (+31)

  • Sheffield - was 5,275 now 5,319 (+44)

  • Barnsley - was 2,293 now 2,301 (+8)

  • Bradford - was 7,397 now 7,530 (+133)

  • Calderdale - was 1,434 now 1449 (+15)

  • Rotherham - was 2,393 now 2413 (+20)

  • Kirklees - was 3,613 now 3,692 (+79)

  • York - was 1,085 now 1,102 (+17)

  • Doncaster - was 2,202 now 2,220 (+18)

  • East Yorkshire - was 1,828 now 1,833 (+5)

  • Hull - was 1,675 now 1681 (+6)
