There are delays on the M61, because of sheep blocking the hardshoulder.
The animals were causing traffic problems on the motorway southbound between junction eight, for Chorley, and junction junction six for Horwich at around 9.30am.
Drivers reported seeing four sheep stray onto the carriageway.
A rolling road block was put in place while Highway bosses moved to the sheep to the hardshoulder.

North West Motorway Police later said the creatures were now behind a barrier.
The carriageway is now fully open, however there is still some traffic in the area.
A tweet from Highways England to a confused driver said: "There are no full closures on the M61, however we are dealing with sheep on the verge where you have seen us on the hard shoulder."
