Thelo Aasgaard was forced off for Rangers against West Ham as the club sweat on his fitness ahead of their Premiership opener this weekend.
The Norwegian international was involved against the Hammers at Ibrox Stadium as the two sides played out a goalless draw in front of a busy fanbase.
Aasgaard lasted 65 minutes before a challenge saw him tumble to the ground and injure his shoulder.
That's when Rangers medical staff rushed onto the pitch and the cameras clocked the midfielder grimacing as they worked on his issue.
The player was then subbed off and replaced by Tochi Chukwuani and he headed straight up the tunnel after a brief word with manager Derek McInnes.
Rangers TV commentator Maurice Ross admitted it "didn't look good" as Aasgaard went straight to the changing room for medical assistance.
It leaves the Light Blues nervously waiting on the extent of the 24-year-old's chances of playing this weekend when their Scottish Premiership action gets underway.
Gers begin their campaign away to Dundee United at Tannadice and could be without their midfield ace.
Aasgaard has been impressive during the club's pre-season fixtures and looks to have been given a heap of confidence from his new boss.
