Theatre production to raise money for Bristol Children's Hospital

A renowned touring theatre company is bringing a new show to the city to raise money for Bristol Children's Hospital.

Oddsocks Productions is known across the UK for for bringing classic tales to life with a difference to entertain people of all ages.

And later this month it is staging Pinocchio in Stoke Gifford to raise money for Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal, the charity which supports the hospital and the 40,000 patients it treats annually.

The Adventures of Pinocchio is the company's new adaptation of the original novel by Carlo Collodi, in which it adds its trademark humour, live music and audience interaction.

The production, based on the wooden boy who discovers what it takes to be a real human, promises to be a funny, magical adventure for adults and children alike.

Creative Producer Elli Mackenzie said: "Oddsocks is a family business and along with many families in the country, we have been on the receiving end of the amazing and dedicated care from teams at our local children’s hospital over many years for my daughter’s ongoing health issues.

"We’re thrilled to be supporting The Grand Appeal and Bristol Children’s Hospital, and would love to see the people of Bristol and beyond come along for a heartwarming evening of live theatre on your doorstep, while also giving back to the local community."
