A young Hindu monk (or sadhu) ties his turban in a tent at the Maha Kumbh Mela festival after being initiated into the Shri Panchayati Naya Udasin sect. The young man is given a new name and his own personal mantra by his guru who is the spiritual leader of their akhara or sect. Sadhus from all over India and millions of pilgrims from around the world are gathering at Allahabad, India to take part in one of the world's largest religious gatherings, which occurs every 12 years
