The X Factor: The Band fans stunned over missed swear word on contestant's jumper

The X Factor: The Band viewers were left in hysterics and a little bit stunned during the live final on Sunday night.

As boy band Unwritten Rule took to the stage for their penultimate performance of the night, they had mixed critique from judges Leona Lewis, Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger.

Leona and Simon urged the boys to do more in their next performance, while Nicole compared them to One Direction.

But what they, and the crew, failed to notice was an expletive term on the outfit of one of the boy band members.

During the judges' commentary, viewers quickly noticed Harrison Cole had a swear word on his shirt.

The word "s**t" was right in view of the camera, with viewers taking to Twitter with their comments.

One fan commented: " #XFactorTheBand why does a boy in the group have the words 's**t n me' on his jacket very very strange."

A third commented: "Nice family boy band with the s**t hoody before 9pm?"

This was echoed by a fourth viewer who said: "Sorry but what does his hoody say? Eat Gluten Free Gluttony S**t n Me?"

The comments kept coming in on Twitter, while it wasn't referenced on the show.

Meanwhile, judges Leona and Simon found themselves booed by the audience over their comments to the band.

Simon said: "Right now, you're nervous. You feel like you're behind the girls I can feel that.

"What you've now gotta do with your next performance is get your heads focused..."

The X Factor: The Band final airs tonight on ITV at 8pm.
