The worrying Sean Morrison photo just posted on social media as things go from bad to worse for Cardiff City

Cardiff City captain Sean Morrison has sparked fears that he could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after after a concerning post from his partner on social media.

The skipper limped out of his side's disappointing defeat to Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night after just 20 minutes, and was replaced by Filip Benkovic, who in turn was one of many Cardiff players to endure a nightmare evening at the hands of The Chairboys.

And, if social media is anything to go by, it could be a while before we see the centre-back in action again.

His partner Stacey has now posted a worrying image on social media, which appears to show his leg in a protective boot.

Losing his captain is just another desperate bodyblow for Neil Harris, who clearly let frustration get the better of him in Buckinghamshire after being sent to the stands, capping off a miserable night for the Bluebirds.

Speculation over Harris and his position in the City hot-seat appears to be growing after this latest defeat, which leaves the club in 15th place and seven points adrift of the play-off positions.

Morrison is just the latest injury concern for the under-pressure boss ahead of what is now a huge clash for City away at Rotherham on Saturday.

"Massive, massive loss. He's the captain and we lack a bit of leadership in the group," he said when questioned about the prospect of being without his captain.

"Mozza gives us that and his presence on the pitch, in both penalty areas, is massive for us. He is just another one to add to the injury list of key players. Mozza, Jordi, Tomlin, Kieffer Moore, you're talking about big players for us and players have to step up and do better in their absence.

"He's got a protective boot on at the moment. My experience of these is that you can't tell until you settle it down and have a look at it, so we'll see it tomorrow. A scan after that, if needs be.

"But my knowledge, if a player leaves in a boot, you don't normally see them on a Saturday."
