Many of us love a cocktail or two but the wait to get one can sometimes be a bit of a pain if you're in a busy bar with a queue full of people all waiting for an equally fancy drink.
Well an invention that solves that problem and lets you become a bit of a mixologist yourself.
Classic whisky cocktail The Old Fashioned has been given a modern twist by The Woodsman with the launch of the world’s first Old-Fashioned vending machine. The machine is serving free drinks at some of the UK’s busiest locations.
Its tour kicked off in London over Easter and the machine will soon be in Newcastle when it arrives at Tyne Bank Brewery on Walker Road on Friday, April 26.
Whisky cocktails continue to grow in popularity, but sometimes they can take a while to put together. The Woodsman Vending Machine is on a mission to change this and will deliver a quality Old-Fashioned serve to drinkers in a flash.
Whisky lovers can build their free cocktail, by pulling levers and turning wheels, creating the perfect serve. What happens inside the machine itself remains a closely guarded secret.
Rod Gillies, Head of Innovation at Whyte & Mackay, said: “Everyone loves a good Old Fashioned, and our maple syrup version is a cracker. But what would make it even better is being able to get hold of one wherever you are, on demand.
"So we’re stripping away the rules and complexity which sometimes surround Scotch and making it quick and simple to get a brilliant drink.
“We’ll be touring the UK with the Woodsman vending machine, popping up in various cities and dispensing Old Fashioned cocktails as we go.”
The vending machine will be at Tyne Bank Brewery for Food Friday and Spring Edition, a massive showcase of food and drink, that will run from 12 until late on Saturday.
