'The world isn't ready' - Spurs fans love what Jose Mourinho has done vs Southampton

Tottenham's 2020 begins with a trip to the south coast today.

Spurs take on Southampton at St Mary's on New Year's Day hoping to get back to winning ways after a 2-2 draw against struggling Norwich City on Saturday.

Mourinho had injuries and suspensions to deal with against the Canaries, with problems in midfield due to Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks serving a one-match ban.

The Portuguese boss handed Tanguy Ndombele his chance, after the Frenchman controversially missed the Boxing Day win over Brighton because he "was not in condition" to play and he was duly rewarded.

What to expect from Tottenham in the January transfer window

Ndombele was brilliant against Norwich, one of the few standout performers and Mourinho has called upon the club's record signing to do it again against the Saints.

It is a French central midfield against Southampton with Sissoko coming back into the first team lineup and the Spurs fans are delighted with the system Mourinho is employing.

Not only that but Jan Vertonghen has been moved back into a central defensive role, from left-back, with Ryan Sessegnon coming in to plat at left-back.

That is a move that has also impressed the Tottenham fans, although some have questioned why Davinson Sanchez is on the bench.
