The Wisp Edinburgh: Firefighters race to extinguish 'massive' fire near new build estate

Firefighters in Edinburgh raced to The Wisp on Wednesday after dramatic footage showed a "massive" fire.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that two appliances had been mobilised to the fire after reports at around 6pm.

A spokesperson told Edinburgh Live that firefighters had extinguished a large rubbish fire.

"We were called at 17:52, there was two appliances in attendance," the spokesperson said.

A video sent in from an eyewitness showed the fire burning, with concerned locals phoning the emergency services.

In the video shot by concerned local Iain Kay, a passenger in the car can be heard saying: "That's a massive fire, I reckon we should call...Omg that's massive."
