The Wire’s Michael K Williams posted ‘don’t cry for me’ on Instagram days before death

Michael K Williams shared a cryptic final Instagram post just days before his tragic death.

The Wire actor, 54, posted a video of comedian Tracy Morgan's passionate speech telling people "don't cry for me" following a car accident in 2014 which nearly killed him.

Michael was found dead on Monday in his Brooklyn apartment, law-enforcement sources told The New York Post.

The outlet reported that drug paraphernalia was found in the apartment, but no cause of death has been confirmed yet.

In what appeared to be his last post on the social media platform on Wednesday, the actor shared the video alongside the caption "I love u brother!!!"

The emotional video shows the 52-year-old comedian giving a speech on the radio, saying: "Don't cry for me. Okay, I had a misfortunate accident. Don’t cry for me! Cry for others man.

"My grandmother told me when you think you doing bad, there’s always someone out there worse. There’s people out there in the world with nobody to love and nobody love them.

"How about that! What is happiness? What is happiness? Whatever you think it is wrong. It’s simpler than that. It’s way simpler than that."

Tracy's final comment on the clip is: "You know what true happiness is? Having something to look forward to."

A limo that Tracy was riding in in 2014 was hit by a truck and killed comedian James McNair, while Tracy was critically injured and was in a coma for two weeks.

Tracy once said that he had contemplated suicide while trying to recover from the crash and revealed he suffered traumatic brain injury.

Now, friends and fans of Michael have commented on his post to share their condolences.

Influencer Ryan Cleary commented: "Omg RIP Micheal. this news hurts!! sending love and prayers up ! you was Always so kind to me via Instagram and Always showed love."

Actress Nicole Ari Parker said: "My heart is broken. rest in power sir."

In 2012, he received his first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or a Movie for HBO's Bessie and subsequently received his second nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for his portrayal of Freddy in HBO's The Night Of.
