The Wire actor Lance Reddick dies aged 60 just days after pulling out of movie premiere

Lance Reddick has died aged 60.

The actor, who was best known for his roles on The Wire and the John Wick franchise, was found dead at his Studio City home early Friday morning. The cause of death is currently unclear, but law enforcement sources told TMZ that it appears to be natural.

Lance, who stars as Charon in John Wick, was currently embarking on a press tour for the fourth instalment of the franchise prior to his death. He was due to appear on the Kelly Clarkson Show next week to talk about his role in the movie.

The actor didn't attend the premiere of the Wick 4 film in New York City on Wednesday night, and instead shared clips of himself with his dogs on social media. John Wick: Chapter 4 is set to release in theatres on March 24, which would see Lance reprises his role as the concierge at the Continental Hotel in New York City.

Charon worked alongside Keanu Reeve’s hitman, and looked after John’s new dog in the second instalment before joining in on the action in the third movie. Lance didn't give a reason as to why he missed the event.

Alongside the Wick franchise, the 60-year-old is famed for his role as Baltimore Police Department officer Cedrick Daniels on hit show The Wire. His character appeared in all five seasons of the popular HBO series.

Other small screen credits on his resume included shows such as Fringe, Bosch, Oz and Lost. Movies he featured in included Angel Has Fallen and Godzilla Vs Kong.

He currently has a number of unreleased projects he had been working on, including the Greek god Zeus in Disney+'s upcoming series titled Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
