The Willian comments to give Arsenal hope of signing the Chelsea winger on a free transfer

Chelsea winger Willian has revealed that he would like to stay in the Premier League upon the expiry of his contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

The Brazilian has been locked in contract talks with the Blues for some time, but a disagreement on the length of the deal has led to the winger being able to leave for nothing should a compromise not be reached.

Willian has been linked with Barcelona, but has also been linked with a stay in London with a transfer to Arsenal a possibility.

And in his latest comments, the 31-year-old has given the Gunners hope of convincing the player to move to the Emirates Stadium.

Who is Arsenal's first choice left-back?

"My desire is to stay in the Premier League, but I don't rule out playing in other leagues, no," he told ESPN .

"I'm going to play until the end of the season and see what happens.

"I'm very used to England.”

That adds to comments made by the player earlier in the month where he spoke about enjoying it in the city.

“We really like London, I have said it many times,” he said .

Willian has been at Chelsea for seven years in which he has scored 59 goals and provided 59 assists in 329 appearances for the club.

The uncertainty over the end of the 2019/20 season leaves players who are out of contract with a problem, with it suggested that they will sign a short term deal in order to see out the end of the campaign.
