The wild Shaq streak connecting him to every NBA Finals since 1984 … is over

The Los Angeles Clippers are out after being eliminated by the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference finals … but there’s something else that ended on Wednesday night.

Shaquille O’Neal had been teammates with at least one participant in the NBA Finals dating back to 1984. In 2019, Danny Green extended the streak. The Lakers and Heat had a bunch of former Shaq teammates.

But with Rajon Rondo eliminated, it’s all over.

That’s right, there’s no ex-Shaq player on either the Suns, Bucks or Hawks. Pretty nuts, but the streak had to end at some point.

Here’s to the 37-year streak that’s no more:
