The Wheel hopeful wins huge prize - as fans realise where they've seen him before

A contestant on Michael McIntyre's The Wheel walked away with a whopping £59,000 on Saturday night.

Junaid, an accountant from Manchester, left fans of the brand-new quiz show initially confused as they thought they recognised him from another show.

He has previously participated on The Chase, and was hailed a "hero" by viewers during his latest gameshow, while Michael himself said Junaid had an "air of destiny" to him.

After recognising him, some viewers rushed to Twitter and shared screenshots of Junaid on the show, with one writing: "HOLD UP, I swear I've seen this Junaid chap on another quiz show before..."

Another shared: "Junaid has been on every single UK TV game show I’ve ever seen!"

"You may recognise Junaid on #TheWheel from The Chase as 'Manchester'," another tweeted.

Fans were even more determined for Junaid to secure the cash prize as they felt he deserved the win, due to his previous TV appearances.

The latest selection of celebrity "experts" included the likes of Rachel Riley, Levi Roots, Daisy Lowe, Richard Madeley, Chris Eubank, Jennie Bond and Joel Dommett.

Junaid had to take on a huge spinning wheel in a bid to win thousands of pounds - with the help of stars who each held a specialist subject.

However he was initially sent out after failing to get a question right.

But he later made a comeback and managed to take the huge cash prize home.

He won £59,000 which sent viewers into meltdown as they congratulated him on the win.

"Well done #Junaid - great amount to win!" a third added.

*The Wheel continues Saturday at 9pm on BBC One.
