The WhatsApp message from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp which proves Harry Wilson is still very much in his thoughts

Harry Wilson's stunning goal for new club Bournemouth was well-received by his new fans - and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

The Wales youngster is on loan for the season with the Cherries from the Reds, and got his campaign off to a brilliant start with a well-taken goal against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Eddie Howe's men ran out 2-1 winners over Dean Smith's side, with Wilson being subbed in the second half following a positive performance capped off by a 25-yard strike.

Back on the team bus, the 22-year-old checked his phone, and was greeted by a message from Klopp.

“Well done – we're all delighted for you,” Klopp wrote, along with a selfie of himself clenching his fist in celebration.

The German boss took the decision to let the attacker leave on a temporary basis for the 2019-20 season due to intense competition along the Liverpool front line.

And that call was very much to Howe's gain.

He said: “Harry's an outstanding talent. He has great attributes.

“We're very grateful that they trusted us with Harry for the next stage of his learning and development to try to play in the Premier League. We hope he enjoys his stay here.

“He's settled in great. He knows a few of the lads from the Welsh team and that helps.

“That enables you to feel at ease, with those relationships you already have.

“He has unique qualities that will serve him really well. The lovely left foot playing on the right is something that's suited us down the years so we're excited.

“He can get better as he learns more about us and we learn more about him.”

Wilson, who has filled the void left by the injured David Brooks on the south coast, is set to be named in Ryan Giggs' Wales squad this week.
