Eight venues have officially been named some of the best pubs in Wales for 2022. The selection from around the country will compete for the title of National Pub & Bar of the Year in June.
At the grand final on June 22, 15 regional winners will also be announced - including Wales - as well as the esteemed accolade the overall National Pub & Bar of the Year, which was won by Galvin Green Man in Essex in 2021.
In Wales, the awards have been given to the best pubs from the old eight Welsh counties, which only now exist for ceremonial purposes. The awards aims to put exemplary businesses across the UK in the national spotlight, showcasing the hospitality industry’s diversity, creativity and vital importance to the UK economy.

The eight best pubs from around Wales' counties, are:
- The Greyhound Inn and Hotel, Llantrisant (Gwent)
- The Botanist, Cardiff
- The Old House 1147, Llangynwyd, Mid Glamorgan
- Britannia Inn, Gower, West Glamorgan
- The Stackpole Inn, Stackpole, Dyfed
- The Sun Hotel, Llansantffraid, Powys
- Golden Fleece Inn, Porthmadog, Gwynedd
- The West Arms Country Inn, Llangollen, Clwyd
