The Welsh export champion who rejects no-deal Brexit 'pessimism' and says it's time to seize the day

The owner of a rapidly expanding sports equipment firm that exports around the world can see no problems with Brexit and rejects the pessimism over a potential no-deal.

Alex Lovén, 31, runs Net World Sports in Wrexham, which sends football goals and other products to every corner of the planet and employs nearly 150 staff.

He believes the risks of a no-deal Brexit have been exaggerated and that a "visionary" Britain would thrive by trading more freely around the world.

He said: "If people look for problems, then they will find them. In my opinion, we will not be impacted by Brexit.

"It comes down to the basics, trade will always continue to take place, and this is something that will not radically change after Brexit.

"The world, like business, moves quickly we need to be nimble and dynamic.

"Change can be seen in a negative light, but on the other hand change with it brings new prospects and I firmly believe that leaving the EU will reap plenty of new opportunities that are out there ready to be grasped.

"If we are visionaries, then I can see no problem in going in this different direction.

"Brexit was the right choice for the UK, I am confident that in the future the EU will cease to exist. If you look closely there are issues smouldering under the surface, if something is going to collapse, its much better to be the first people out than the last people out.

"As a growing international business, we have some of our biggest customers outside of the EU

"Take for example the Commonwealth countries such as Australia and New Zealand, we have a natural affinity with these countries, a long history and speak the same language yet struggle to strike trade deals.

"Every business is different of course but our sales have soared in these countries through the culture similarities.

"We cannot be naïve and short-sighted to just look inside the borders of Europe, there is a fast-moving world out there waiting to be seized.

"I conform to the glass half full approach and reject taking the pessimistic, cynical views that many others are happy to shout around."
