The weirdest sights caught on Google Street View in Scotland

The Google Street View Car is now a common sight on Scotland's streets and roads.

The street-level imaging service now shows the whole of the country from the Borders to Shetland and that means the vehicle covers a lot of ground.

The navigation tool is ideal for finding your way around any city or town but every so often it captures some hilarious, and often just downright weird, images.

I mean we guess when you're out exploring every nook and cranny you're going to come across some strange sights, right?

From nuisance plastic bags to what appears to be a streetside superhero convention in Shetland, here are some of the funniest images we found.

A streetside brawl in Fife

Two men were captured 'throwing punches' on Parbroath Road in Glenrothes (Google)

An eagle-eyed Google Maps user has spotted what appears to be a 'scrap' on a deserted Fife street.

Two men were captured throwing punches and being pushed to the ground on Parbroath Road in Glenrothes in what looks like a vicious roadside brawl.

One of the men is spotted on the deck (Google)

But people have been left convinced the so-called 'fight' is nothing more than an attention-grabbing prank by two pals.

The scrap was spotted by Twitter user @samueldcfc back in April, as he posted photos of the fisticuffs in action.

The smiling 'murderer' in capital

The Edinburgh 'murder scene' (Google)

At first glance, this image seems pretty ominous but it actually appears to be a pair of pranksters creating their own fake 'murder scene'.

Incredibly, it was so convincing that the police were eventually called and the garage owner was forced to apologise.

Accident in the Highlands

Not what you expect to see (Google)

This image captured near Ardmair Beach shows what appears to be an accident in the Highlands.

Three people can be seen looking on as a car is seen in front of them stuck in the ditch.

Shetland Superhero gathering

A Marvel-lous sight (Google)

Not every day you see a gathering of superheroes.

We presume this group in Shetland was a fancy dress party and not the actual Avengers.

A plastic bag spoils the view in Glasgow

Plastic bags - not just a nuisance for the environment (Google)

Sinclair Drive is a busy road in the southside of Glasgow but you wouldn't know it looking at this picture as it appears a plastic bag has got in the way of the camera.

In a rush it seems on St Georges Road, Glasgow

No excuse for speeding... (Google)

Some people like to play fast and loose with how fast they drive.

But surely the Google driver should know better?

Even better, because they've caught themselves in the act.
