Never Eat Shredded Wheat. You know, the system many of us were taught as children as the best way to remember the compass points – right?
Well it turns out Edinburgh Live readers use many different alternatives, along with the famed shredded wheat system, when working out where they can find the north, south, east and west. And some of them are just down-right weird.
We posted a light-hearted post on our Facebook page at the weekend just having a laugh at how the strange system has become part of our lives.
But what we didn't expect was for people to start offering up their own alternatives.
So because it gave us a right good laugh, and it's one of those taboo subjects nobody ever seems to talk about, we thought we'd share some of our favourite Never Eat Shredded Wheat alternatives.

3. Never Eat Seaweed – Linda Hardie (not sure this one works 100 per cent)
