Conor McPherson’s award-winning play The Weir is a story of loss and the consolations of connection. In an old Irish pub, the regulars meet to swap ghost stories and legends. Over the years the stories get stretched in the telling and on one particular night, they throw around a little blarney for the benefit of Valerie (played by Nadine Garner), the attractive stranger in their midst. She’s just arrived from Dublin, and seems to enjoy the stories. But no one could have known how deeply they would hit home.
