Canadian superstar The Weeknd is set to come to Belfast in 2022, as part of a new tour that will take him across Europe, the US, and further afield.
The 'Blinding Lights' singer announced today that he was adding new dates to his 'After Hours' tour, which including a stop off at the SSE Arena next year.
The Toronto artist will perform in Belfast on October 13, 2022 .
The worldwide tour announcement comes just days ahead of the multi-platinum singer’s headlining Super Bowl performance, and also includes a handful of rescheduled dates shifting from 2021 to be a part of the After Hours World Tour in 2022.
The performer also announced a new compilation album, The Highlights, for release on Friday, February 5th.
A press release about the tour says: "The Highlights is a way to present some of The Weeknd’s most notable works in one place. While this isn’t a “Greatest Hits” album it does provide a new listener a rich foray into some of the iconic artist’s best and favourite work. Fans can pre-save and pre-order the album here ."
The Weeknd's fourth album, also called After Hours, was released in March 2020, and quickly became his most successful yet. The singer has emerged as one of the most critically and commercially successful artists of his generation.
The Weeknd last performed on these shores back in 2017, when he headlined Dublin's Longitude Festival.
