The Way You See It

Not everyone agrees that everybody - or to be more specific, Adrian Mutu - deserves a second chance. "Don't you think Chelsea and Jose Mourinho already did that? Claudio Ranieri said the guy was a time bomb," says Roman Chernov.

Another fan agreed, saying: "Chelsea tried to help Adrian Mutu sort himself out, only to find he had lied to them. Mutu then went on to make wild accusations about his manager in the press." Robin de Rouen also made a reference to Ranieri, saying that he had called Mutu a "footballer with extraordinary gifts but with a problem between the ears".

"Chelsea's request for a harsher penalty is both dumb and mean spirited," thought Doug Crockett. "If he got a harsher penalty than Rio Ferdinand, any player in the future likely to test positive would not show up for the test. People addicted to drugs should receive treatment and not have their lives destroyed as Chelsea seem to want to do to Mutu."

Chris Hodgson has been appalled by the over-defensive strategy Bolton have been using this season. "It's one thing to stall, but Bolton are clearly crossing the line," he said. "Everything they do is designed to waste some time or to get a player booked. El Hadji Diouf's slow, lazy stroll to take a corner was bad enough but to stop in front of the angry crowd and wipe his socks off, with a big smirk on his face, was positively excruciating."

Nicholas Page expressed his concerns about the ever-widening gap between the rich and the poor of the football hierarchy: "My expectation is that in 20 years' time, we will have no local clubs left and those fortunate enough to support a bigger club will have to splash out thousands of pounds every year to watch them play all their away games on the continent," he says.

"The true fans will be forced out of the game, to be replaced with the corporate prawn-sandwich brigade."
