With “Wicked: For Good” around the corner, brands have capitalized on the movie’s popularity by releasing their own collaborations. Green and pink can be spotted in food, deodorant, laundry detergent, and coffee, proving the film’s marketing budget has no bounds. Now, margaritas join the list. Across the internet, this partnership is defying gravity among social media users: Chili’s Wicked-Inspired Margarita Of The Month.
What are Chili’s Wicked-Inspired Margaritas?
In light of the film’s upcoming release, Chili’s introduced two Wicked-inspired margaritas. For $6, fans can choose either Elphaba (The Witches Brew Marg) or Glinda (The Good Witch Marg) throughout November. The sour-flavored Witches Brew Marg consists of Lunazul Blanco Tequila, Blue Curacao, Monin Granny Smith Apple, and a house-made sour, served with a swizzle broomstick. Meanwhile, The Good Witch Marg caters to those who prefer sweet, containing Lunazul Blanco Tequila, Triple Sec, Monin Dragonfruit, and house-made sour, topped with soda water and a swizzle stick wand.
As a result, fans are hopping on their boomsticks to head to their nearest location, even nondrinkers.
What did this Chili’s customer witness?
While sitting inside a Chili’s, New Jersey-based TikTok creator Julia (@justru444) posts a photo of an empty booth across from her. However, $6 cash, an empty glass beside two untouched green and pink martini glasses without their signature broomstick and wand, hints that it was previously occupied. Clearly, the patrons did not visit the restaurant to dine on Witches Brew and Good Witch margaritas. Instead, they ditched the alcohol and kept trinkets.
“These two girls ordered these drinks, took a picture of them, took the wand & broomstick out, paid & dipped,” the content creator recaps in the text overlay.
“Love the dedication,” she writes in the caption.
Drinkers and nondrinkers weigh in
The video amassed 2.7 million views. Many who did drink saw this as an opportunity to snag free alcohol.
“The way I would’ve ran to the table,” one viewer commented.
“Ah see I’m the problem bc my first thought was ‘mine now,’” another agreed.
Moreover, sober viewers claimed they would’ve also ordered the drinks for the keepskate.
“Hey [us] sober girlies wanna enjoy things too! This is so cute,” one commenter stated.
“I fear this would be me. I don’t drink but I have severe FOMO,” a second shared.
But a third found an option that let them have the best of both worlds. “I asked for a mocktail version, and they made the best green lemonade thing.”
There is no information available on whether non-alcoholic versions exist. On the other hand, if you want to experience the magic without alcohol, you can try to request a mocktail or a virgin version. Just note that results may vary.
If these enchanting drinks entice you, catch them this month for a limited time. “Wicked: For Good” flies into theaters on November 21.
