The water's lovely! Man enjoys swim right outside his caravan at flooded Skegness holiday park

This video shows a barmy holidaymaker diving into floodwater from inside his caravan after his summer getaway was ruined by unseasonably wet weather.

Alex Henderson, 28, pulled on a pair of fetching yellow shorts, a swim cap and a pair of goggles after finding out the on-site pool at his caravan park in Skegness was closed for the day.

Footage shows him throwing his body head-first into the inches-deep water and desperately trying to swim away.

Alex then flips his body over, a move he describes as "like an Olympic athlete", and starts doing backstroke towards a neighbouring caravan.

The 25-second video was taken by pal Alec Marshall, 31, on Wednesday (June 12).

The pair travelled to the site from County Durham on Sunday (June 9) for a bit of summer sunshine beside the sea.

At the start of the clip Alec can be heard saying: "Here we have the caravan Olympics. And for the final, we have Alex Henderson doing the ten metre dash."

Speaking from the Skegness seafront today on Thursday, Alex said: "I wanted to go for a swim but the pool was closed.

"When I came back Alec said I should just go for one outside, so I put my shorts on.

"I jumped into the water and had a great time, it was lovely. I came here for a holiday and I'm going to enjoy it.

"I was hoping for sun and sand but I've ended up with rain and mud."

As the day went on and the rain kept coming Alex videoed a family of ducks bobbing past his caravan.

Then one of his neighbour's took to showering in gutter water after the drains in her own caravan got blocked.

The seaside resort of Skegness has been on a yellow flood alert during this week after 60mm of rain fell during one night, with heavy showers and gale force winds continuing to batter the town.
