Redskins offense is historically awful

The Washington Redskins offense is bad. Of course, if you’re reading this article, then chances are that you already knew this, but it’s worth repeating.

The Redskins offense is arguably the worst in the NFL right now, and after being held to just nine points on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, Washington has now gone three straight games, and 13 straight quarters, without scoring a touchdown. They’ve been held to single-digit scoring in all three of those games as well.

While the offense started the season on quite a tear under veteran quarterback Case Keenum, things have found their way back to the mean as of late, and it has culminated in 18 total points over the last three games. The Redskins are the first team in the NFL to be held out of the end zone in three straight games since the Cleveland Browns in 2008.

The Redskins have scored in single digits five times this season, with all of those games expectedly ending in losses. The franchise record for such games is eight, which occurred in 1961, when the team finished 1-12-1 under Bill McPeak.

Their record may not be much better than that, but hopefully, Washington can find a way to get into double-digit scoring a couple more times this season. They have seven games to do so.
