The warning signs your dog is overheating in the heatwave and how to help them

As the heat rises across the country and people brace for the hottest day of the year so far, dog owners are being warned to ensure their pets are comfortable.

Vets and grooming salons are urging pet owners to check whether their dog is one of the breeds most at risk from the heat.

While all dogs can easily overheat the most vulnerable to hot weather are often brachycephalic breeds, those with shortened heads, noses and flat faces.
