UFC 251 brings a stacked card of fights to Yas Island, Abu Dhabi for the promotion’s inaugural “Fight Island” event, on Saturday, July 11, as UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman takes on Jorge Masvidal in a title clash that has captured the imagination of fight fans around the world.
Defending champion Usman (16-1 MMA, 11-0 UFC) was originally booked to face Brazilian Gilbert Burns, but after the Brazilian tested positive for COVID-19, Masvidal (35-13 MMA, 12-6 UFC) was drafted in on six days’ notice. Now the matchup many fight fans had hoped to see has become a reality, and the pair will face off in Saturday night’s main event at Flash Forum on “UFC Fight Island.”
