Twitter thought it was a day like any other Thursday – then Australia’s agriculture minister, Barnaby Joyce, told Johnny Depp that his dogs Pistol and Boo, which he allegedly smuggled into Australia on his jet, must “bugger off” back to the US or be put down.
It’s a ridiculous situation ripe for comedy if you can put aside the grave fate faced by two innocent terriers – and Twitter obviously could. Here are just a few highlights:
