The Wanted's Tom Parker gets first coronavirus vaccine

The Wanted's Tom Parker has revealed he received his first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

The Bolton singer is currently undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with stage four brain cancer.

Sharing the news, Tom posted a selfie on Instagram giving a thumbs up as he wrote: "Off to get my first Covid jab."

He updated his followers on his time at the vaccination centre then posted another image and wrote: "Just get it done so we can all move on."

It comes not long after Tom, 32, posted a positive health update.

Earlier this month he took to Instagram again with the news of a "significant reduction" following gruelling treatment.

He said: "SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION. These are the words I received today and I can’t stop saying them over and over again.

He encouraged his followers to get the vaccine (Tom Parker/Instagram)

"I had an MRI scan on Tuesday and my results today were a significant reduction to the tumour and I am responding well to treatment."

Tom, a dad of two, has been keeping fans and followers updated with his progress, as well as his family life, since his diagnosis last October.
