The Walking Dead season 10 finale trailer: Fan favourite character returns in last episode

The extended trailer for the next Walking Deadepisode puts things in place for a dramatic conclusion to a brilliant season.

*Spoilers follow – you have been warned*

Fresh from the closing moments of episode 15, which sees Beta (Ryan Hurst) lead a horde of the undead to the water tower where our heroes are based, the trailer shows everybody preparing for battle.

It’s shown through the eyes of Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam), prompting many Twitter users to express their concern for the safety of the priest (however, one line in the latest episode seems to hint that a big comic book death could be reserved for another character).

Elsewhere, the trailer shows the identity of the mysterious figure who runs into Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Alden (Callan McAuliffe) as well as Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura), Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and new addition Princess (Paola Lazaro) on their way to meet Stephanie.

It’s the end of the trailer, though, that provides the biggest surprise, as we’re shown Maggie for the first time since she departed in the same episode as Andrew Lincoln in the ninth season.

She’s shown reading a letter filling her in on the tragic events of the Whisperer war, including the deaths of three of her closest friends – Jesus (Tom Payne), Tara (Alanna Masterson) and Enid (Kateyn Nacon).

Showrunner Angela Kang told Entertainment Weekly that the finale will explain where Maggie has been.

Cohan first appeared on the show in its second season in 2011.

It’s currently unknown when the finale will air as the episode was unable to be completed before the coronavirus lockdown.

The Walking Dead airs in the US on AMC and on FOX and NOW TV in the UK.
