The WalesOnline Pinc List is back for 2023 and we want your nominations

The Pinc List is back for 2023. We want to once again recognise the LGBT+ people who have made a massive impact on the lives of people in Wales. Over the years, the list has featured powerhouse activists, dedicated charity workers and some well-known celebrity faces.

If there is someone who has made a difference to your community, inspired or helped you personally, campaigned for LGBT+ rights or used their public profile to make a massive difference which goes above and beyond their day job, we want to know about them. Whether they are well-known faces or everyday heroes, we want to hear their stories.

Last year's winner was matriarch of LGBT+ activism Lisa Power, who has been a key figure in the fight for queer rights and HIV justice over the past few decades. Other names were Yan White, the businessperson whose shop has become a safe haven for Wales' LGBT+ community, and Hannah Blythyn, the politician who uses her platform to help make life better for LGBT+ people in Wales. You can see the full 2022 list here.

The rules

The person you nominate must be a member of the LGBT+ community and either born and brought up in Wales or have lived here for a substantial amount of time. We want to hear about people who have a significant ongoing influence on the lives of LGBT+ people and particularly about activities which are more than just their paid job. You do not need to nominate people who were included on the 2022 list, who are automatically up for consideration, unless you want to tell us about new things they’ve done in the past year.

We also want people to tell us about anyone who is a "rising star"- someone who may have come out, moved to Wales or created something recently but who are making waves in the LGBT+ scene here in Wales in the last 12 months.

To nominate someone, we need their name and a description of why you think they should be included in the list. We also need contact details for you, and for them and confirmation that the person nominated is aware you have put them forward and we will contact them afterwards to confirm the details provided.

The final 40 are decided by a panel of people from WalesOnline, Pride Cymru and other community members. Nominations close on Monday, May 8.

How do I nominate someone?
