The Wales scrum-half debate - have your say on who should start at No.9 this autumn

Welsh rugby returns next week as the regions go head-to-head in back-to-back derby matches.

There is not a great deal riding on the match with the Scarlets being the only team with anything tangible riding on the games, though their hopes of making the Guinness PRO14 play-offs are slim.

There is, however, a slightly bigger picture.

As always tends to be the case when Wales' four professional teams go head-to-head, they will almost be trial matches with a bloated international window looming this autumn.

Fans will be treated to a number of mouthwatering head-to-heads in the coming weeks but, perhaps, none will be more enticing that the battle at scrum-half.

It's a jersey that was not nailed down during the Six Nations despite all three leading candidates having an opportunity.

Tomos Williams found himself at both ends of the spectrum with moments of magic but also some poor errors, particularly in the defeat against Ireland.

Gareth Davies, the incumbent, blew hot and cold, and it was a similar story for Rhys Webb.

He looked a little off the pace, having not had much game time beforehand, in a cameo against Italy but looked much more like his former self in defeat to England.

Webb was pencilled in to start against Scotland and would have been looking to make a real statement, reclaiming the jersey he owned previously.

All three are likely to meet each other later this month, with the Scarlets meeting the Cardiff Blues next week and then the Ospreys hosting the Blues the following weekend.

Heading into those derbies, who is in pole position?
