The Wales rugby team the fans want to play against England as Willis Halaholo starts

Wales rugby fans have called for Kieran Hardy and Willis Halaholo to start against England in Saturday's crucial Six Nations match.

In a WalesOnline survey of more than 10,000 supporters, fans were asked for their views on the major selection calls facing Wayne Pivac ahead of Thursday's team announcement.

The decisions were close, with the fitness of Leigh Halfpenny actually appearing crucial in who should start at 10.

Exactly 40% of voters opted for Dan Biggar, with Callum Sheedy getting the rest. However, of Sheedy's 60% polling, just 28.5% of respondents said they would go for Sheedy, no matter what, with 31.5% opting for the Bristol man as long as Halfpenny is there to take on goal-kicking duties.

The concern comes after Sheedy missed two kicks at goal against Scotland. In what is expected to be a tight game, a world-class kicker is likely to be important, and Halfpenny is yet to be declared fit after suffering concussion in Edinburgh.

Even if he does pass the required protocols, the return of Josh Adams from suspension gives Pivac a real selection headache , with Liam Williams and Louis Rees-Zammit also in the back three mix.

As for scrum-half, Hardy just pips Gareth Davies to the jersey by the narrowest of margins with 43.3% of the vote. Davies polled 42.9%, with Lloyd Williams getting the rest.

Pivac's toughest call is arguably in midfield, where six players are feasibly vying for selection.

We put all six names - Johnny Williams, Nick Tompkins, Willis Halaholo, Owen Watkin, George North and Jonathan Davies - to the public and asked them to select a partnership.

The most popular duo was Halaholo and North (23.5%), who is set to win his 100th Wales cap against England. It's a big vote of confidence in Halaholo, who was mightily impressive coming off the bench against Scotland.

The second choice was a return to the partnership which started against Ireland, with Williams partnering North in the centre.

More than 75% of Wales fans believe the team will beat England on Saturday, with the majority of supporters (45.4%) expecting a second place finish in this year's tournament. Just over 30% of those polled believe Wales will win the whole thing.

The Wales pack arguably picks itself at the moment, with Wyn Jones, Ken Owens, Tomas Francis, Alun Wyn Jones, Adam Beard, Justin Tipuric, Taulupe Faletau and Josh Navidi expected to start if fit.
