The Wales player ratings as Ethan Ampadu puts in another cool display but attack blunted in Ireland

Wayne Hennessey 7

Became Wales' all-time record appearance maker for a goalkeeper and marked the occasion with a typically-assured performance. Did what he needed to when called upon.

Connor Roberts 6

Was up and down that right flank like a yo-yo. Gave the ball away cheaply once or twice but on the whole a competent display.

Ethan Ampadu 7 (star man)

Stuck his head on the chopping block in the two boxes. Slotted into the centre of defence seamlessly, after struggling in midfield against Jack Grealish and England on Thursday night. Produced a fine display at the back.

Joe Rodon 7

Calm, composed and silky in possession. A couple of poor passes caused a hairy moment or two, but another neat performance from the Tottenham target.

Ben Davies 6

Another solid outing from a seasoned campaigner in a Wales shirt. Reliable in possession and kept a lid on the dangerous Robbie Brady for the most part.

Joe Morrell 6

Stepped into the Welsh midfield comfortably and provided ample cover from a deep-lying position. Ticked the play over nicely but lacked influence going forward.

Matt Smith 6

Rushed and harried the Irish midfield. Will have wanted to produce a little more when Wales launched their counter-attacks, though. Needed to do a bit more.

Harry Wilson 5

A sloppy pass almost played in Robbie Brady in the first half, but he also had a decent, bending effort denied by Darren Randolph. Gave the ball away a tad too often when trying to inject pace.

Aaron Ramsey 7

The odd touch of brilliance and Hollywood pass, but Wales needed to get him involved in attacks far more than they did. Looked dangerous the more the game went on.

Daniel James 5

A very quiet outing, all told, for the Manchester United man. Had little opportunity to influence the game in areas Wales needed him to.

Kieffer Moore 5

Booked for an elbow to Kevin Long's face early on. Was perhaps unjustly penalised on a number of occasions by the referee but fed off scraps and was incredibly quiet all afternoon.

Subs: D Levitt 5 (on for Smith 67), N Williams 6 (on for Wilson 67), D Brooks 6 (on for James 77)
