The voter turnout figures for every constituency in Wales

The turn out in the Senedd election is slightly higher than in 2016.

At time of writing, Welsh Labour was on course to win at least 30 seats and be the dominant party in the next Welsh Parliament.

The increase in people's awareness of the Senedd due to the pandemic had led to some hoping for a large turnout across Wales. The the turnout has increased to 46.6% from 45.5% but this is not as much as many hoped.

However there was considerable downward pressure on the votes with many people uncomfortable entering a polling station given the ongoing pandemic. Plus the extension of suffrage to 16 and 17 year old may have reduced the percentage of eligible voters casting a ballot as young people tend not to vote in such high numbers.

The five places with the highest:

  • Cardiff North 58.08%
  • Brecon and Radnorshire 57.50%
  • Carmarthenshire East and Dinefwr 56.35%
  • Ceredigion 55.74%
  • Vale of Glamorgan 55.01%

The five places with the lowest turnout was:

  • Swansea East 35.41%
  • Torfaen 37.27%
  • Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney 37.58%
  • Newport East 38.32%
  • Cynon Valley 39.05%
