The Voice UK coach Will.I.Am felt the wrath of angry viewers on Saturday night as he axed a contestant many believed was thoroughly deserving of a place in the final.
With the Blind Auditions and Battle Rounds now a distant memory, it was crunch time on the ITV talent show this weekend as three of each coach's acts bid for place in the upcoming finale.
Each of Will.I.Am, Olly Murs, Tom Jones and new judge Anne-Marie took through six singers from the Battles and had to pick just one from the first set of three to go through to the final.
And Will.IAm' s choice didn't sit too well with some viewers as he put through opera singer Nadia ahead of Adenike and Lauren.
And, while Lauren had her fair share of fans on social media, it was Adenike's exit from The Voice that sparked the most anger, after she gave her all with an amazing take on Aerosmith's I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing in a bid to get her mentor's vote.
All of the coaches were full of praise for her once again after she wowed in previous rounds with Oleta Adams and Whitney Houston covers and viewers thought she'd done more than enough to make the final.
One tweeted: "Adenike should’ve gone through, Adenike had more emotion and was incredible!!"
In agreement another posted: "That was beautiful from Adenike. I loved that version of the song it was sung was such beauty and elegance yet she has so much brilliant vocal power.
"She did the song justice in my opinion. She deserves to be in the final that is how good she is."
Saying that Will had done the other coaches a favour by not putting her through to the final, another reacted: "Oh, Will. Should’ve been Adeniké... the other coaches breathing a sigh of relief that you didn’t put her through!" and, tipping her for a bright future, a fourth commented: "Adenike is amazing. Hoping a record exec is watching and signs her up. Amazing."
