The Voice Kids' Savannah Lily gets three turns as Jarrow teen wows coaches with Blind Audition

A young singer from South Tyneside sent chairs spinning on The Voice thanks to her amazing Blind Audition.

Savannah Lily, 13, was one of the singers featured in the first episode of the popular ITV show when it made its return on Monday night.

The Jarrow teenager, a well known face on the local music circuit, told millions watching at home that she was there to 'pursue her dream,' and she most certainly made an impression on The Voice Kids coaches with her fantastic take on Elton John classic Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

As the song built to a crescendo, Savannah hit some amazing notes, with Danny Jones, Melanie C and Pixie Lott all turning for her.

Savannah's family were there to witness her performance, with mam Stephanie, dad Rob and sister Sheridan all watching backstage with host Emma Willis as she fired on all cylinders.

After Savannah told the coaches she was a big fan of country music, Mama Do singer Pixie described her as "a little Carrie Underwood," before Spice Girl star Mel told the 13-year-old she had a "wonderful instrument," while praising the storytelling in her performance.

After all three judges made their pitch to try and persuade Savannah to pick them it was Pixie, the coach who turned first, who she went with.

Pixie told Savannah: "I feel like I can help you take away any nerves, so you can just go out there and let your voice shine."

Taking to her Facebook page, Savannah said she "couldn't believe," she got three turns, before praising The Voice vocal coach and her vocal coach back at home, Northumberland based teacher Julie Miles.

Savannah is back in action on ITV on Wednesday night when she will perform in the Battle Round semi finals.
