The Voice Kids 2019 drama after Welsh finalist Gracie Jayne's performance halted

Welsh schoolgirl Gracie Jayne Fitzgerald had to restart the opening song of The Voice Kids' final after technical difficulties meant she could not hear the music.

The 12-year-old from Brynmawr in Blaenau Gwent is being mentored by Pixie Lott and was about to start her performance of Nina Simone's Feeling Good, when an issue with the music meant the youngster couldn't hear it.

Despite the issue the schoolgirl impressed the judged no end with her performance  with Will,i.am saying: "I salute you, you're amazing.

"To be on TV in front of millions of people and the sound goes wrong."

Coach Danny Jones added: "What a way to start the final. You handled that so well."

Afterwards, host Emma Willis ran on stage to hug Gracie  saying she was an "absolute professional".

"A false start, that's the first time that's happened to me!" Emma exclaimed.

Gracie later went on to perform a duet with Pixie Lott with the pair putting their own spin on the Ike & Tina Turner classic River Deep Mountain High.

However, despite a spirited performance the Welsh youngster missed out on winning the show.

Sam Wilkinson, mentored by McFly star Danny, was crowned the winner after getting the most votes.

As well as winning the crown, he will get a £30,000 bursary towards his musical education and a family holiday to Orlando Florida.
