The Voice Australia Insider Says There’s Beef Among Coaches That’s Left Some ‘Rattled’

The Voice Australia

The Voice Australia 2025 has just kicked off and there’s already drama rumours circling.

While the talent on stage is as strong as ever, it seems the off-stage tension could be just as entertaining this season.

Apparently, the chaos doesn’t centre around the contestants, but more so their famous mentors.

Insiders are claiming there’s some beef among the coaches on the beloved talent show, namely American crooner Richard Marx and Aussie Kate Miller-Heidke.

According to a well-placed Channel Seven source, the 61-year-old singer “walked off on Kate multiple times”, ducking out whenever things got heated.

Keith Urban’s advice to Richard was to never fight with the other coaches,” one insider from The Voice Australia told PEDESTRIAN.TV. “So when things got heated, he just left the room instead.”

Apparently, Marx came into the gig buzzing to work alongside Kate. “He’d heard wonderful things about her and genuinely admired her music,” an insider revealed, adding that he was “shocked” things allegedly turned sour.

By the time blind auditions wrapped, the tension was so thick Marx was allegedly avoiding one-on-one time with her. “It became obvious he didn’t want to be left alone with her,” the source claimed.

So what went down? Insiders claim producers told Kate to “lean into her competitive side” and that’s what she did.

“She leaned in so hard she nearly fell off her chair!” suggested one production mole. But her determination may not have won her friends.

Now, whispers suggest The Voice Australia producers might struggle to get the international trio back if Kate signs on for another season, which consists of Richard Marx, Melanie C and Ronan Keating.

“Richard in particular was rattled,” the insider added. “This isn’t the Richard Marx he wanted Australian viewers to see.”

Viewers will reportedly see hints of the beef in an upcoming episode as Marx says on camera: “Kate was the last person I thought I would clash with.”

Us too, Richard. Us too.
