The viral rainbow pasta recipe that costs pennies to make

Every parent will know that trying to keep the kids entertained during lockdown isn't easy - and trying to get them to eat meals can sometimes feel impossible.

However, one mum has come up with a genius way of getting her kids to enjoy dinnertime, by injecting some serious colour into basic pasta dishes.

Robyn Green, a mum-of-four from New Zealand, first shared her idea for making rainbow spaghetti on Facebook this weekend, and it's since been shared almost 100,000 times.

Robyn shared a series of photos showing off her culinary creation, much to the delight of Facebook users across the globe.

Posting alongside pictures of her colourful pasta, Robyn wrote: "Rainbow spaghetti for dinner tonight, the kids were most impressed!"

Revealing how she made it, the mum-of-four said: "I cooked the spaghetti as per normal cooking instructions.

"Once it is cooked I divided it into separate bowls, along with the cooking water so they stayed hot, and added food colouring.

"Left them till they were the color I wanted, then i rinsed them and served. Super easy!"

Robyn told Manchester Evening News: "[The kids] loved the idea. Our whole country is in complete lockdown so it was nice to do something a bit special for them."
