The viral egg sandwich breakfast trick people can't believe they haven't tried before

There’s not much better than finding a new favourite breakfast and when it comes to the most important meal of the day, eggs are usually the star of the show.

No matter which way you cook them - scrambled , fried, hard boiled or poached - they’re so versatile they never really get old.

But recently, one super simple egg recipe has gone viral and many can’t believe they’ve never tried it before.

The no mess, one-pan egg hack has been circulating social media for the past few months, reports BelfastLive.

The clip involves an innovative twist on the classic egg or omelette sandwich.

TikTok user @ivycher posted her version of the recipe.

Narrating over the video, she said: "Today, I'll be making the viral egg sandwich.

"For this recipe I'll be using two eggs, lightly seasoned with salt and pepper."

"Pour the mixture in the pan - then you dip it and flip it."

She then adds a slice of bread into the beaten egg mixture in the hot pan and continues: "Do the same for the other slice.

"Flip it over when the egg is cooked then I add a slice of cheese and ham.

"Then fold it together and there you have it - enjoy!"

The egg, cheese and ham are then folded into a neatly stacked sandwich while still in the pan.

The video, which received more than 66.8k likes, is one of many circulating on social media platforms at the moment.

Many show basic omelette sandwiches without any filling but account holders - like @ivycher - have upgraded the recipe to include ham and cheese, ketchup centres and bacon and spring onion.

In the comment section under the video @ivycher wrote that you can add alternative fillings, she said: "Use chicken slices or tuna or whatever you like instead!"
