This viral egg sandwich breakfast hack will blow your mind

Since the start of lockdown we have been trying to come up with creative breakfast recipes to make our mornings a little brighter.

It is, after all, the most important meal of the day.

If there is one ingredient that's usually a part of our morning meals, it's the humble egg.

Scrambled, fried, hard-boiled or poached, the versatile ingredient is used in recipes across the world.

But recently - one super simple egg recipe in particular has gone viral online, Belfast Live reports.

The no mess, one-pan egg hack has been circulating social media for the past few months.

The clip involves an innovative twist on the classic egg or omelette sandwich.

Social media user @ivycher posted her version of the recipe hack on her TikTok account.

Narrating over the video, she says: "Today, I'll be making the viral egg sandwich.

"For this recipe I'll be using two eggs, lightly seasoned with salt and pepper."

"Pour the mixture in the pan - then you dip it and flip it."

The woman adds a slice of bread into the beaten egg mixture in the hot pan and continues: "Do the same for the other slice.

"Flip it over when the egg is cooked then I add a slice of cheese and ham.

"Then fold it together and there you have it - enjoy!"

She then folds the cooked egg, cheese and ham filling and the two now fried slices of bread into a neatly stacked sandwich whilst still inside the pan.

The video - which received more than 66.8k likes - is one of many circulating on social media platforms at moment.

Many show basic omelette sandwiches without any filling but account holders - like @ivycher - have upgraded the recipe to include ham and cheese, ketchup centres and bacon and spring onion.

In the comment section under the video @ivycher wrote that you can add alternative fillings, she said: "Use chicken slices or tuna or whatever you like instead!"

Viewers commented: "I made my sister this for breakfast and she really liked it. Thanks!"

With others posting: "Brb gonna go make this for breakfast right now!"
