Putting on fresh bedsheets is one household chore that many people aren't very fond of. Whether it is because of the time it takes or the frustration of wrestling with the duvet to get it inside the sheet, unfortunately it is one of those tasks that homeowners can't avoid.
It turns out that there are many different ways you can change your bedding, including this unique hack that went viral on Instagram. An interior designer shared a step-by-step guide on social media claiming to show a faster way to make your bed, which has been dubbed as the 'burrito' method.
Originally shared on YouTube back in 2016, the quirky technique has resurfaced and divided many homeowners - with some claiming that this would make the dreaded process take even longer.

In the Instagram video by shared by Piglet in Bed, which has had more than 55,000 views, brand manager and interior designer Rhiannon Johns gives a tutorial to demonstrate the process. It involves rolling your duvet up inside of the duvet cover, which is where it gets its 'burrito' name from.
The bed-making hack has had mixed reviews, with some people eager to give it a go after watching the tutorial and others who aren't convinced.
"I saw this years ago and it has made my life so much easier since. It's even easier if you kneel on the bed and shuffle down as you roll the duvet 'cause then you only need to roll from the middle rather than having to keep going from one side to the other to keep it even," commented Naomi. "This is the only way I do it too! It’s so much easier," said another user.
"Brb saving this for future reference, so tired of being out of breath from putting the duvet on," a third added. But some people think that the method is too complex and time consuming.
"I feel like I need to watch this at least 25 times before I’ll figure out the tuck," commented one person. "I’ve seen a few different ways of doing it, but I don’t really get it, surely this takes longer than just shoving it in and giving it a shake," said @thegroveathome.

Another user suggested an alternative method to the hack which they said was easier. "I mean there is a much simpler way to do it. Duvet cover inside out, put your hands inside from the bottom and one hand in each of the two top corners, and grab the corners of the duvet then shake the duvet cover round the right way. Literally takes 10 seconds," they said.
Step-by-step guide to the hack:
-
Lay the duvet cover inside-out on your bed, with the buttons at the end of the bed.
-
Lay your duvet on top (shortest side of the duvet lined up with the shortest side of the duvet cover).
-
Start tightly wrapping the duvet cover inside the duvet, starting with the shortest side at the top of the bed, all the way to the end - creating a ‘burrito’ shape
-
Open up the buttons and wrap one side of the buttons around the tube you have created.
-
Hold onto the sides and roll the duvet out.
