The violent criminal police are hunting to take him back to prison

Police are hunting a violent offender who has breached his licence conditions after being released from prison.

Steven Murphy, 37, was jailed for an offence of wounding in 2016.

He was released in October 2019 but has failed to abide by the terms of his licence.

Murphy is now wanted on recall to prison.

Police say he has links Salford, Ashton, Droylsden and Manchester and appealing for the public's help to trace him.

A GMP spokesperson said:" Police appealing for the public’s help to trace a wanted man from Manchester.

"Steven Murphy (29/04/1982) was released from prison in October 2019 after being jailed in 2016 for wounding.

"He has failed to abide by the terms of his licence and is now wanted on recall to prison.  

"Murphy is known to have links to the Salford, Ashton, Droylsden and Manchester areas."
