The View’s Whoopi Goldberg struggles with script as she goes off-topic in odd moment

Whoopi Goldberg has been at it again as she loses her train of thought while reading from her script on The View.

The veteran presenter has endured a number of on-screen blunders in recent shows, and found herself with the giggles in last Thursday's segment.

The actress, 67 was chatting with fellow panellists about being in a relationship with an age difference. She discussed a comment in the Washington Post recently in which one mum described herself as being "infuriated" by her 20-year-old stepdaughter dating a co-worker who is 59.

But as the conversation on air went on, Whoopi couldn't help be smirk throughout, breaking into laughter every few seconds.

While chuckling to herself, Whoopi asked the panellists: "What would you tell her?" before adding: "Well I'd tell her, mind her business!"

She then attempted to tell her own dating story, saying: "I dated a man who was born... I was born... I dated him... but he graduated the year I was born."

During the discussion, Whoopi continued to struggle to get her words out clearly before Joy Behar jumped in to ask: "From where? From high school?"

It was then left to Whoopi's co-panellists to take over the segment and bring order back to the screens in place of the comedian.

Whoopi had been off-screen last month after she had been "under the weather". The fan-favourite missed a handful of shows, but was quickly back and thanked her co-stars who had wished her a speedy recovery in her absence.

The latest on-screen incident is far from the first time Whoopi has stuttered recently, either. Last month the show descended into chaos as the Sister Act star clashed with crew during an "awkward dead air" interview with Liam Neeson.

Liam, 70, had came to the studio to promote his new movie MARLOWE, but some viewers slammed the chat for being "full of silence".

Conversation was already slightly dry as Liam looked extremely uncomfortable with the producers' choice to play a number of clips of host Joy declaring her love for the film star.

"I'm sorry, I'm speechless," Joy admitted following the clips. "How embarrassing when they put them together like that." Liam replied: "I know."

It caused Whoopi to rage down the camera at producers for "throwing up" these types of videos.
