The video clip which has Nottingham Forest fans drooling over Joao Carvalho's return

Joao Carvalho is back - and Nottingham Forest fans are loving it!

It hasn’t taken the Portuguese ace long to get back into the swing of things after recovering from an ankle injury.

If anyone had forgotten just quite how good he can be, Carvalho put on a show at Swansea City on Saturday, with some real moments of magic.

Not least an exquisite ball to Sammy Ameobi in the first half which almost led to Sabri Lamouchi’s men breaking the deadlock at the Liberty Stadium.

It would have been an incredible assist and a brilliant goal, but a fine save from goalkeeper Freddie Woodman prevented any celebrations from the visitors.

A clip of Carvalho’s quality pass has been doing the rounds on social media, though - including from the club’s official account.

And it has got Reds fans salivating at the prospect of what is to come from the talented 22-year-old.

On his first start of the season - and his third appearance in total - he was at the heart of much of his team’s attacking play at the weekend, particularly in the first half.

He set up Lewis Grabban, who found the back of the net but also the offside flag. He tried to get on the scoresheet himself with a header which flew just wide. He caused Swansea problems with a free-kick and drew a save from Woodman after the break.

In the end, it was substitute Alfa Semedo who grabbed a winner five minutes from time to extend Forest’s unbeaten run.

But seeing Carvalho back in full flight has certainly caught many supporters’ eye.
