Victrola has brought its Wave Bluetooth turntable to the UK, Europe and the US, with a matching Soundstage all-in-one speaker also set for release.
The Wave features a low-resonance MDF plinth and an aluminium platter. It also comes with an aluminium tonearm and the Ortofon OM 5E moving magnet cartridge.
This makes it great for beginners setting out on their vinyl journey, especially when you consider that the deck also supports Auracast Broadcast Audio and Bluetooth transmission, with aptX Adaptive and aptX HD support.
That means you can stream vinyl playback wirelessly to a Bluetooth speaker or audio setup for close to lossless listening.
There's a switchable phono preamp built into the player too, so you can connect the Wave directly to powered speaker. RCA outputs are also on board to hook it up to amplifiers and hi-fi systems.
That includes the other product also announced by Victrola – its matching Soundstage.
The Soundstage is an all-in-one speaker system that comprises front-facing radiators for "stereo dispersion" and a down-firing Symmetric Drive Woofer to provide that extra oomph.
The cabinet is vibration-isolated, so you can place a Victrola Wave on top – or any other turntable – and the woofer shouldn't affect vinyl playback or the sound signature.
It's available in walnut, like the Wave, or black and also supports Bluetooth, RCA, USB-C and 3.5mm AUX for wireless and wired connections.
It is also worth noting that the Bluetooth in the Wave turntable can also be used to connect a separate audio source, such as your iPhone or Android device, and play music through any connected speakers.
The Victrola Wave Bluetooth turntable is priced at £349 / €399 / $499 and is available across regions now. The Victrola Soundstage will follow on 1 October in the UK and Europe for £299 / €329. It's already available in the US, at $349.
A special edition version of the Victrola Wave is also available. Made in collaboration with Third Man Records in the US, it features the brand's distinctive black and yellow colourway and a custom slipmat.
