There’s a rather unlikely face front centre of a new Leeds United 2020 calendar.
These wall calendars always make stocking-fillers each Christmas and we suspect many Whites supporters will receive this one over the festive period.
They might be a little perplexed to see former defender Pontus Jansson taking the most prominent place on the front of the calendar themed around Leeds United legends - let alone making the grade at all.
During his time at Elland Road, Jansson was certainly a cult hero but a somewhat acrimonious departure to Brentford this summer certainly damaged his relationship with the Leeds faithful.
For context, others featured in the new 2020 calendar, which we saw for sale for £9.99 at the Calendar Club in Leeds city centre, include Billy Bremner, John Charles, Norman Hunter, Eddie Gray and Gordon Strachan.
The Swede’s inclusion, even if he was still playing at Elland Road, might have been a little suspect - truth be told.
The calendar has been made by Mirror Football and we feel our colleagues down in London might have scored something of an own goal.
That said, maybe we’ll see a Pontus Jansson statue outside Elland Road one day.
