The very rude MOT test verdict left on government's official website

WARNING: This article contains material some people might find offensive

An offensive message was found on a government website used to list the MOT status of vehicles in the UK.

The 'check MOT history' online page run by the UK Government lists the MOT history of all vehicles.

A silver Smart Cabriolet with the registration number plate of RJ04ZYX shows the car failed its MOT in June 2015.

The website says it failed its MOT because the rear registration plate lamp wasn't working.

But under the "Advisory Notice item", the MOT tester had added: "The driver looks like a proper C***".

The comment, which was still visible on Monday morning, has now been deleted.

The message was discovered after various social media posts directed users to the website.

The post said: "If you're bored, go on Google and search for MOT Check, open it up and search the MOT status of this car RJ04ZYX. Have a look at why it failed in 2015; it’s the best advisory you’ll ever see! Trust me, you won't be disappointed."

This is why mobile speed camera vans can legally avoid MOT requirements:

Neil Barlow, DVSA’s Head of Vehicle Engineering said: “DVSA’s priority is to help everyone keep their vehicle safe to drive.

“The comment posted on the MOT history service is completely unacceptable and has now been removed. We are investigating this further.

“Since 2017, there has been a profanity filter in place to stop MOT testers being able to include these words on a certificate.”
